Larsen's House
|
This airy and spacious house is nestled among palm trees right on the
edge of the Indian Ocean. The Watamu beach with its white sand, turquoise
waters and superb coral reefs was recently voted the fifth best beach in the world
by the Sunday Times Tour Operator Poll. If you have ever dreamed of living on
a tropical beach, Larsen's House will let you experience your dream!
At Larsen's House you are able to enjoy all the comforts of home away from
home, with none of the worries or chores. Your own personal cook prepares
your meals, with cleaning and laundry the responsibility of the housekeeper. The
local supermarkets and greengrocers can deliver your order to your door! Fresh
fish, including crab and prawns, are regularly brought to the house by local fishermen
if you so wish. So pamper yourself with a holiday dream house on the beach!

Accommodation
Larsen's House offers enough space for a family or group of friends to stay together,
yet it is also a romantic, private spot for a couple to enjoy a honeymoon. The
ground floor contains a large, open-plan living and dining room, which opens out
onto a large shady verandah with an attached bar area.

A bright reception area welcomes you at the entrance; each room is light and
breezy, with comfortable chairs and sofas inviting you to relax. A large, well-equipped
kitchen is also found on this floor.
Upstairs are four large, double bedrooms. The master bedroom has a stunning,
shady verandah and its own ensuite shower and toilet room. Three twin-bedded rooms
share a shower room and two toilets. All rooms have fans and mosquito nets and
all but one room have a clear view of the Indian Ocean, with the fourth room facing
the inland forest of palm trees.
For those guests with a vehicle, the double garage offers safe parking as well
as storage for any water-sports equipment you may bring.

Activities
Diving and snorkeling is superb in Watamu. The Watamu National Marine Park boasts
over 600 species of fish in just 10 square km. It is virtually impossible to snorkel
without seeing a least a few dozen species inside the main reef; divers outside
the fringe reef stand an excellent chance of viewing the magnificent whale shark
and Manta rays that are seasonal visitors.

If underwater exploring is not your style, not to worry! Try windsurfing, dolphin
watching boat trips, gentle walks to explore the rock pools, bird watching in
Mida Creek, exploring Gede Ruins and the unique Arabuko-Sokoke Forest or simply
lying on the beach. Watamu beach offers something for everyone!
Enjoy lazy, relaxing days snorkeling in the clear, blue waters, or beachcombing
on the five-mile long stretch of sand. Settle down on a shady verandah for a fresh,
home cooked meal before an afternoon 'pumzika' (nap), or try your hand at windsurfing.
Whatever your beach holiday ideal, Larsen's House is the perfect base.
